The second was the one also linked to my Mac. I used one Apple ID with one and another with the second. You can Sign Out of both apps on both devices. The same should apply t the FaceTime App. If either of them do, is it your Apple ID ? The iPod touch should be Settings > Messages > Send and Receive and it should not list an Apple ID. SO if you open Messages on the Mac and go to Preferences > Accounts there is nothing set in the iMessages account ? I don't own an iPhone and I have never setup iMessage or Face Time account so that's why I am confused by the message It then reconnects in a "re-registering" type way so all the set up pop ups reappear. If the tough is Off Line now and then such as not having a Wifi connection then it will be Off line as far as the Server is concerned. If you do the same between two devices using one Apple ID you will get pop ups if and when the devices connect back to the Server.
